NASHVILLE, Aug. 23, 2005 NPC Inc., the publisher of Business Tennessee magazine, announced today that senior writer Drew Ruble has been named editor of the statewide business monthly. He succeeds David A. Fox, who is leaving at the end of the month to open a Southeast U.S. office in Nashville for hedge fund advisory firm Titan Advisors, LLC.
Ruble joined NPC in November 2001 and since then has produced more than half of the magazine's cover stories, in the process earning a silver award from the Alliance of Area Business Publications for his body of work. Tackling an enormous array of topics, such as ethics in the General Assembly and the economics of the Bonnaroo Music Festival, he wields a broad understanding of the issues that shape business and politics in Tennessee.
"Drew has the knowledge, vision and statewide contacts to build on the success Business Tennessee has enjoyed since its launch in January 2004," said Chris Stovall, publisher of Business Tennessee. "His deserved reputation for journalistic excellence and integrity will serve us and our readers very well."
Ruble is a graduate of Ohio University and has a master's of fine arts degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. He joined NPC from The Rhinoceros Times in Greensboro, N.C.
"I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the editorial direction of Business Tennessee," said Ruble, who will continue authoring articles for the publication. "Participating in the magazine's launch and preparing articles for the subsequent editions have been labors of love. Now, I am eager to add to that experience with a greater personal presence across Tennessee, and I look forward to developing closer relationships with the people and institutions that make Tennessee such a great state for our families and businesses."
